The Green Room Counselling Service
Telephone 07582 921344

I am a qualified therapist based in Southwest London and Thanet. I provide services for those struggling to come to terms with a wide range of emotional issues.

My service is built on solid foundations of academic learning and qualifications. I graduated with a Honors Degree in Integrative Counselling and hold Diplomas in psychology, Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), Addiction Counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy.  I also hold a MSc in Clinical Hypnotherapy.

Some clients might be suited to particular approaches as apposed to some others. It is the therapist's role to explore all the possibilities in terms of various ways of working. Under my gentle guidance and encouragement you will learn how to meet adversity head-on and deal with it effectively on your own terms.

I hold individual membership with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the Association of the ICH (AICH), and with the Institute for Learning.

I studied on a two year teacher training course with Canterbury Christchurch University. Within my tutoring role I assist students from a range of counselling colleges with aspects of their work such as, gaining a better understanding of how to fully meet their course criteria and preparation for external assessments.

My counselling/psychotherapy model is integrative. I am a counselling lecturer, teaching counselling at an adult college in London, as well as in a hypnotherapy training college.I currently work as a psychotherapist in private practice receiving some referrals from the NHS, EAPs and medical and insurance companies. I also work on a structured addiction treatment programme in a prison context where my work includes facilitating assessments, 1-1 therapy, group therapy and workshops. Meditation/mindfulness, guided visualisation and EMDR feature in my way of working.(I also take bookings from abroad during school term time.)

Many clients come for therapy in a state of despair due to having experienced traumatic episodes, or are suffering with long and short term issues. Discomfort experienced by clients come in many forms and and from a variety of origins. Typically these would include:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Phobias
  • PTSD

The list is by no means complete and the situations that generate and nurture negative emotions and reactions like these are virtually without limit in the modern world.Very often memories of past events will find a safe harbour in the darker recesses of the mind where they are liable to stay and fester for a lifetime unless dealt with. Memories, perhaps, of marital infidelity possibly resulting in a messy divorce; bullying or stress in the workplace; domestic violence; homelessness and financial insecurity; child sexual abuse; racial hatred; discrimination and bereavement.

Hypnotherapy is an effective therapy in treatment of various conditions, such as:

  • Traumas
  • Phobias
  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Psychosexual Disorders/Dysfunctions
  • Addictions
  • Insomnia
  • IBS
  • Depression
  • Eating Disorders
  • Self-Esteem Issues
Hypnotherapy can also  help you lose weight, stop smoking, improve your performance, get rid of exam nerves and help you re-discover hidden talents, confidence and resources from within.
